I've been on my own journey into changing my life using self compassion as my guide. I believe that when we are able to see ourselves as deserving of love, growth and healing, every aspect of our lives change. Walking with clients through this discovery of their true self lights me up and challenges me to continue learning and growing into the kind of person and therapist I want to be.
I received a master's degree in Counseling in 2008 and have been practicing individual and couples counseling in Portland since 2015. I believe my role as a therapist is to hold up a mirror to my clients so they can have a clearer picture of who they are. When clients are able to gather the information they need, they are able to move closer to who they want to be and how to get what they want out of life.
Being a midwestern transplant living in Portland has been a dream come true for me and you can find me playing outside or reading at some point most days. My husband and my two kids are my inspiration and they encourage me to continue growing into who I believe myself to be in the different roles I hold. My kids have been my greatest teachers in curiosity and kindness!
